Puff
Film Studios in Poblenou
2019
The PUFF team asked us to accommodate three casting rooms and a production room in a large yet narrow space. Recognizing that a lengthy corridor was unavoidable, we chose to make this feature the project’s focal point. Movement and playfulness were our guiding principles.
Working with María Güell Ayza, we envisioned the reception area as an open, transitional space that allowed natural light to flood in. To create a functional waiting area, we installed a built-in sofa that spans the length of the hallway. The new ceiling hides technical installations with varying heights, adding interest and dynamism. Additionally, cladding the ceiling with navy-blue cork helps reduce noise within the rooms.
In the production room, we opted for a dramatic transformation of the visual palette. We used a vast green silk carpet to create a flexible space that encourages floor interaction. We positioned the meeting room half a level above, which can be integrated with this area by opening sliding wood panels.
